Scott had wanted a kayak or a canoe for a long time....I knew he wanted an F1, but he wasn't keen on the bow shape.
So we mulled it over with a few beers and settled on trying to meld a bow shape like Long Shot's to the F1.
As a result of this we also had a go at a swooping forward deck stringer.....not to mention adding a dye to the Urethane finish.
So I cut everything and packed it all off with my tools to Brisbane.....
This was always going to be a fast build as I was stopping off as I was stopping off on the way back to Hobart from Cairns. All the pre-cut components as well as the deck beams and cockpit rim had been sent to Scott previously and the skin and urethane had turned up from Spirit Line. All my tools were there and we had a schedule.
Scott picked me up from the airport at 6pm Tuesday and the build started at 7:00 that night.......
7:00pm Wednesday - frame all finished and oiled. Scott had wanted a different stem and deck stringer and we managed both. The stem is 9mm marine ply with distinctive holes which should look pretty neat once the skin is on......the deck stringer is lower at the bow than usual and we've induced a curve up towards the cockpit.....

.....and after a day with needle and thread, Smile31now clothed.....nice swoop to the front deck stringer...and those holes in the bow plate show promise.....

Scott stitching - two needles = twice as fast!!

Now to give her a suntan.
Like that..
..and now for the deck...
Not a bad view of the mottled look of the skin....
More of Scott's lashing on display..
Yep, that worked....
Success..
...might have looked better on the Peugeot..
